Disclosures and Privacy Policy

Pete here. The trust and privacy of visitors to In Pursuit of Operational Excellence is very important to us.

At In Pursuit of Operational Excellence we don’t know who you are (unless you choose to tell us) and we don’t track you.  You do not need to register or disclose any personally identifiable information to use this website. Should you choose to provide identifiable information (such as an email address to receive notification of updates), we promise not to sell this to third parties.

Like most websites, we do receive and collect some types of information when you visit our site.

Log Files

We collect and use the data contained in log files using Google Analytics to help provide you with better and more meaningful content. The information in these log files may include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Goggle Chrome), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited. This information shows us trends and statistical data regarding our site. This data is not linked to your personally identifiable information.

Cookies

In Pursuit of Operational Excellence does not use tracking cookies on our website to track your visits. However, we may use third party advertisements (such as Google Adsense) and affliate programs (such as Amazon Associates) to support our site. Some of these advertisers and affiliates may use technology such as cookies and web beacons, which will send them information including your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash (a browser plugin) installed. This is generally used for geo-targeting purposes (such as to show Memphis real estate ads to someone in Tennessee, for example), for showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing toy ads to someone who frequents parenting sites), or for providing you with information on a product or service of interest. Each of these third-party websites have their own privacy policies that we are not responsible for.

You can choose to disable or selectively turn off cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites that you may use. This could include the inability to login to services, participate in forums, or access programs.

Google Adsense

Google, as a third party advertisement vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. The use of DART cookies by Google enables them to serve advertisements to visitors that are based on visits to this website as well as other sites on the internet. Tracking of users through the DART cookie mechanisms are subject to Google’s own privacy policies. To learn more or opt out, visit Google’s Advertising Policies & Principles page here.

Amazon Associates Program

In Pursuit of Operational Excellence is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program from which sites can earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com products and services.

Web Beacons

Our site does not directly utilize a software technology called “web beacons” or “web bugs” (although our advertisers or affiliates might). Such beacons are clear, tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the on-line movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive (where users can view them, though not easily), beacons are embedded invisibly on web pages and are smaller than the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Advertisers may tie the information gathered by beacons to any personally identifiable information which they have obtained. You may be able to block this technology by using third-party “Internet Security” software.

Legal Disclaimers

We reserve the right to disclose any information in our log files as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website. (Since we don’t gather any personal identifying information about you, we can’t inform you if this occurs.)

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect any information you do submit to us. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect any information gathered in our log files we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Occasionally, some of our content may be republished on other websites. We are not responsible for republished content taken without our permission on other websites.

The contents of this statement may be altered at any time, at our discretion and was last updated September 24, 2017.
