PHIL EMARDPresident & Implementation Specialist Medford, OR Phil’s in-depth understanding of high performance implementations developed from substantive work in a wide variety of industries and was built upon his formal Toyota Production System training at companies in Japan and North America. He has performed successful implementation projects for manufacturers such as Johnson & Johnson, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon as well as healthcare providers including DSI Laboratories, Fairview Hospital, Stanford Medical School, West Tennessee Health System, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Projects include but are not limited to, the redesign and implementation of a medical reagent formulation line, hospital laboratory, “core” clinical laboratory, operating room, emergency department, pharmacy, blood component manufacturing, administrative billing process, aerospace fabrication, aerospace assembly, and cellular manufacturing for a full line of surgical garments and drapes. These projects have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in saving. back to top BRIAN DAPPCOO & Implementation Specialist Wichita, KS As one of the senior Implementation Specialists with OpEx, Brian Dapp has the earned reputation of producing year-over-year improvements in the businesses he helps shape. In his years in aerospace component manufacturing, he lead an organization of 400+ as they transformed all aspects of safety, quality, schedule, and profitability by leveraging expert team building, project management, and process improvement skills. Brian Dapp joined the OpEx Team of Consultants in 2004 after 15 years of operations management and engineering experience. Since then Brian has applied his expertise with clients such as Cord Blood Registry, Stanford University Medical Center, Geisinger Medical Laboratories, New York Blood Center, Cleveland Clinic, and Ewing Cole Architects. He has helped clients with everything from facilities redesign, managing rapid expansion, improving service, and reducing cost. Playing football (Go Boilermakers) and graduating from Purdue University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, Brian also earned a Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Systems from SDSU. back to top DAVID A. STEWARTCTO & Implementation Specialist Rochester, NY David uses his strong analytic skills and results oriented focus to help clients such as Centrex Clinical Laboratories, Stanford University Medical Center, and Fenwal Blood Technologies exceed their improvement goals. Through his leadership, these institutions were able to reduce turn around time for test services by 80%, save $6.5 million in inventory, increase capacity by 41%, and improve productivity by 20%. Prior to joining OpEx, David spent eight years with Raytheon where he worked with senior operations leaders in sheet metal fabrication and aircraft assembly to turn-around a struggling aircraft business. He is a certified Raytheon Six Sigma Expert (Black Belt). After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, David pursued graduate work at Wichita State University. As the Raytheon Aircraft Graduate Assistant in Manufacturing Engineering, he developed a fuzzy Bayesian system to proactively identify areas of high defect opportunity for large companies with high-product mix but low-volume. He received a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from WSU in 1999. back to top DAVE LUKEDirector, Business Development Bend, OR David is the founder and Principal of KD Enterprises, a professional consulting company in Bend, Oregon focused on business development and improving sales effectiveness. Prior to founding KDE, David was the COO of a California based Technology Company and also spent 20 years at Hewlett-Packard as a member of the senior sales management team. David played a key role in the growth of Hewlett-Packard’s manufacturing industry revenues and market share. David’s sales leadership skills helped HP win the Sales and Marketing Magazine’s “Best Sales Force” award 2 times in the 1990’s. After graduating from college, David spent the first 2 1/2 years of his career as a manufacturing engineer working on the implementation of computerized shop floor systems. David holds a BS in Engineering and a BS in Marketing from Arizona State University and lives in Southern California with his wife, Karen. back to top |
