Introducing Catena

The Catena process improvement software system begins by establishing a location to store your project files.  Once you have selected a location to house your project, Catena will create a folder and file system automatically.  It will then open the project.

Catena Project Panel

The heart of the Catena software lies in the Project Panel.  This panel serves as the starting point for your project activities.  After you have created a new project or opened an existing one, this panel menu will be displayed.

Activities are arranged into four sections by project phase.  The phases are:

Project Management
Create a project time line, management project and improvement action items, obtain task reports.
Analysis
Analysis your current processes and activities, identify wastes, understand product and quantity relationships, create new standard work processes.
Implementation
Perform capacity planning, determine staffing levels based on work demand, verify standard work (10 cycle), create two-bin and kanban labels for material replenishment systems, conduct 5S Red-Tag activities.
Sustain
Collect and analysis down times, track performance measurements (day by hour, efficiency, quality), manage staff development, and audit project areas on ongoing basis for further improvement opportunities.

Information  Depending on the software feature level, not all options may be available.  If a feature is not available, a tool tip will appear indicating what level is required.  To check your level, close the Project Panel and then select Help | Licensing from the menu of the Project Selection screen.

To get started with an activity, select the project phase tab and then click the button for the activity you wish to work on.
