Installation of Catena Desktop Application

Tip If you are planning on using the optional Performance Scout Palm OS handheld software to track down time and performance measures, please install your Palm OS Desktop software (received with the handheld unit) prior to Catena. 


1    Remove the setup.exe file from the Catena_Release_XXXX_YYYY-MM-DD.zip compressed zip folder.

Note  Catena's installation files are distributed in a compressed zip file.  XXXX refers to the version number of the application and YYYY-MM-DD refers to the year (YYYY), month (MM), and day (DD) of the application's build.  Distribution files with the same version number are identical in features. 

2    Double Click on the setup.exe file. 

Tip  To successfully perform the installation, you must be logged on to the computer using and administrator account.

3    Click Next on the Wizard Welcome screen to advance.

4    Review the licensing terms, click “I accept the agreement” and then click Next.

5    Enter your name and the name of the organization (if any) and click Next.

6    Specify the location to install the application to (default recommended) and click Next.

7    Specify the name of the Start Menu group to place Catena links to (default recommended) and click Next.

8    Clear or check the box to have a desktop icon created (default recommended) and Click Next.

9    Review the installation information and then click Install to begin the installation process.

10       During the installation process, Catena will install support files for use with the optional Performance Scout Palm handheld application.  The setup program will inform you if it does not detect the Palm OS Desktop software on the computer.  If you do not wish to use this optional feature, simply acknowledge the warning if prompted and continue. 

Note  Should you wish to install it at a later date, run conduitinstaller.exe in your Catena Program Files directory after installing your handheld desktop software.

11       If you do wish to use the Performance Scout software you will be prompted to select which device you wish to sync with.

12       When the Wizard is complete, click the Finish button.

13       If you were prompted at any point during the installation to reboot the PC, please do so now.  Once reboot is complete, resume setup with the next step.

14       By default, a new Catena installation will be licensed in “Discovery” mode for 30 days.  To upgrade licensing terms, obtain a pre-paid serial number from OpEx Software LLC and authorize the application.
